Description of Councils and Commissions
Our Councils and Commission include:
The Pastoral Council is the coordinating and unifying structure of the parish community giving all in the parish a voice in encouraging, guiding and directing the various aspects of parish life. The Council gathers together the thoughts and ideas of the parish community and seeks to reach consensus on parish policy for recommendations to the Pastor. The Pastoral Council's function is to detect the movement of the Spirit among God's people, to work for a unified vision of consensus among its members, to help the whole parish to meet the challenge of being a Church in the modern world.
The All Saints Parish Finance Council is a consultative body that helps the Pastor to steward the funds and physical assets of the parish. It serves to articulate a vision of stewardship to the parish and help the parish be accountable to the community for the gifts it receives.
Faith Formation Commission
Faith Formation begins at home- the domestic church. The Parish assists by providing opportunities for family activities, individual enrichment and religious education and formation for all ages. Each parishioner is a model of living faith and continual growth.
The Faith Formation Commission assesses the formation/educational needs of all parishioners by exploring Church teachings and developing familiarity with documents of the Church and Archdiocesan policies concerning Christian formation.
The Faith Formation Commission develops strategic plans and policies to address the formation/educational needs of the parish and continually evaluates programs performance in terms of the parish needs being fulfilled.
School Commission
Spiritual Life and Worship Commission
The Spiritual Life and Worship Commission, in keeping with the parish vision, seeks to serve the community by developing and recommending policies and programs concerning Spiritual Life and Worship. A primary focus of the Spiritual Life and Worship (SLAW) Commission is providing input, ideas, and feedback for weekly liturgies and the seasonal celebrations throughout the liturgical calendar. SLAW's arena of function includes, but is not limited to supporting all liturgical ministries and the art and environment of the parish worship space(s), as well as communal programs that foster the individual spiritual lives of All Saints parishioners.
